Practicum Goals and Objectives
My practicum goals and objectives will be based on the seven domains of nursing practice. Therefore, I will be an educator, play a helping role, monitor patients effectively, manage crisis, conduct diagnosis, and documentation, administer medications, and coordinate activities and requirements of patients (Fukada, 2018). Accordingly, my objective is to make sure that when the practicum ends, I will be in a position to accurately perform diagnosis, conduct patient assessment and monitoring effective, effectively administer drugs to patients, and organize their needs. I will use most recent research to inform my practice.

Timeline of Practicum Activities
The first week I will focus on induction and familiarizing myself with the environment
Within the second and third weeks, I will have developed good relationships with my mentor, peers, and other healthcare providers
By week four and week five, I will be in a position to make an accurate diagnosis
In week six, I will be effective in-patient assessment and patient monitoring

Nursing Theory
Orem’s self-care theory will guide my practice during practicum. The theory presumes that people are capable of taking care of their health and nurses can play the role of assisting people whose ability to care for themselves has been distorted. Nurses can achieve this by directing providing care and educating the patients (Hasanpour-Dehkordi et al, 2016). Accordingly, I will always inform patients about their disease condition, their prescribed treatments, care plans, and also educate them on strategies to use to improve their self-care and make significant lifestyle changes to facilitate positive health (Borji et al, 2017).
