As a registered nurse, I encountered various scenarios within my professional practice where I diligently applied critical thinking skills to analyze, assess, synthesize, and evaluate the patients’ medical status to determine the most appropriate treatment and diagnostic method that best suits them. I also utilized the most appropriate scientific evidence to improve my patients’ health outcomes (Canada, 2016). Whenever I was faced with critical and complex medical situations, I would use the PICOT process to evaluate the situation before commencing any diagnosis or treatments.
